We ask pet and horse owners who are customers of the UK’s leading insurance providers to share their experiences and help other owners like you, choose the best pet or horse insurance policy type and provider.
Please read some of the thousands of pet insurance reviews from other owners and leave your own review if you are a customer, too. All the inside information on the service and support the insurance companies provide, and how easy or complex they make it to submit and get a claim paid, helps others make an informed choice. Your views can also encourage our insurance companies to offer the best possible service they can.
Once you’ve narrowed down your options click through our site links on your chosen insurer's page to get a quote and help us to help pets and equines in need through our charity donations.
We want to give pet and horse owners lots of real customer reviews to read when deciding on the right policy for them and their animals so we need new reviews from you!

Insured for one year, no direct debits taken, no contact until time to renew for a further year, now nice big bill to pay in one hit, absolutely rubbish service. Policy cancelled.
Domestic Short Hair
Absolutely shocking rip off company who I would never recommend or use ever again, makes there own rules as they go and always think of an excuse not to pay you, petplan you are a disgusting company I'm gonna make sure everyone knows .
Shih Tzu
I have just tried to increase my dogs cover to life time as it was a good price but I was told that all digestive tract problems would have to be excluded from the policy because he had 1 episode of gastroenteritis 4 years ago!!!! No actual treatment...
Large Mixed Breed (60+ lbs)
Absolutely outrageous company.
Had lifelong pet insurance for £6000 cover.
Dispite this, this company has changed its policy so it only pays out upto £750 for a cruciate ligament injury that could cost you £4000+
Also only pay out £750 on MRI scans and...
We have made no claims, our insurance went up by £200 in in year. We were told this was due to the 1st year being discounted - hardly a discount if they recoup their money in the second year.
Medium Mixed Breed (31 - 59 lbs)
PetPlan are not the company they claim to be. My dog was diagnosed with a skin allergy in September 2018 and requires monthly medication. Petplan then refuse to pay placing an exclusion on the policy as she had a scratched nose in November 2015 which was...
German Shepherd
Be careful - the older your pet gets the more you have to pay. Our cat was 20 years old and only, thankfully, had to use them once and because of his age we had to pay 50% of the cost. If you miss a payment they don't find out why you get a letter...
Domestic Short Hair
I have had my insurance policies with Vetsure for 2 1/2 years now, but only needed to make a claim recently. It seems these days that with insurance of any type, the process of claiming is drawn out, complicated, and you are made to feel like you have to...
Jack Russell Terrier
I have made a claim nearing the £12,000 mark. My cat had cancer with treatment provided at the Royal Dick Vet School in Edinburgh.
Not had any fuss with a claim for £5,000 taking a bit longer due to the amount. Fair enough....
I am paying £13 per month...
