Coverage

Scratch & Patch provide six levels of cover. Their Bronze Cover policy is an accident only plan that is time limited to 12 months which means cover exists for a total of 12 months from the first date of treatment. The plan offers vet fee cover of £2,250 for each injury and payment for death of up to £250 for dogs under 8 years and cats under 10 years of age. There are lower pay out limits for certain types of accident claims: Cruciate ligament injury £500; alternative treatments £250; Dental treatment £250. This plan does not cover illnesses.

The Silver Cover is a Time Limited plan offering cover for accidents and illness with maximum benefit limits per illness and injury. This policy is time limited which protects you with cover for eligible accidents and illnesses for up to 12 months after the first day or treatment or until the policy limit is reached, whichever happens first. Once cover ceases due to the policy limit or time limit being reached for a particular condition or accident, that condition or accident is excluded from future claims and is classed as a pre-existing condition. The policy offers £3,000 vet fee cover per injury or illness limited to 12 months from the first day of treatment and cover for up to £500 for the death of an insured pet for dogs under 8 years and cats under 10 years of age. It covers holiday cancellation up to £1,000, Third Party Liability for dogs on of £1million, loss and recover of your pet up to £750 and emergency boarding up to £750. Some conditions have lower cover limits: cruciate ligaments £500; alternative treatments £300; dental treatment £3,000.

The Gold Cover is a Maximum Benefit policy which means the policy covers eligible illness or injury until the cover limit is reached and the policy remains in force. Once the vet fee limit is reached you can not make any further claims for that particular illness or injury as it will be considered to be a pre-existing condition. The policy offers up to £4,000 vet fee cover per illness or injury, up to £4,000 dental work cover, payment for the death of an insured pet of up to £1,000, holiday cancellation cover up to £1,000, loss and recovery cover up to £1,000 and emergency boarding cover up to £1,000. There are lower limits for certain types of treatment: cruciate ligament treatment £1,000; MRI/CT scans £1,000; alternative treatments £400; diet food £100; behavioural treatment is not covered by this policy.

Scratch & Patch's three lifetime cover policies cover all new medical conditions after the policy has started up to the cover limit. They allow you to claim for the same condition year after year. If the policy cover limit is reached during the policy year cover will cease but be re-instated at the beginning of the next policy year.
