Your No. 1, top-rated UK pet insurer in 2026 is The Kennel Club Pet Insurance with over 76% of reviews rating their service as “excellent”. Many of the customers who left reviews said their customer service team are great and claims are settled quickly. Kennel Club pet insurance was our top rated in 2025, too, so they seem to be consistently rated well. This isn’t the cheapest insurance on the market as it provides lifetime cover, and their excess does apply to every claim, but with efficient service and fast settlement of claims they still come out top for reviewers.
Meanwhile, coming in a close second, 81% of over nearly 600 reviewers of Agria Pet Insurance rate their service as “excellent”. Agria also provide the Kennel Club pet insurance product, so they are effectively the same insurer. Customer value their customer service and the advice they provide. The Telegraph voted Agria as the Best Pet Insurance overall in 2025 and they received a Which? "Best Buy" recognition for their Lifetime, Lifetime Plus and Lifetime Premium insurance for dogs and cats in 2026.
At number three is Lifetime Pet Cover, a smaller insurer who punches above its weight as 70% of reviewers rated them as “excellent”. As their name suggests, they specialize in Lifetime Pet Cover and many people who left a review mentioned their reasonable prices, helpful customer service team and that they are quick to settle claims. They have been voted Best Pet Insurance Provider for 6 years running from 2019 - 2024 by MoneyNet. An insurer you may not have heard of, but which is valued by it’s customers.
Many Pets come in at number 4 with 80% of reviewers rating them as “excellent”. They were rated Pet Insurance Provider of the Year in 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026 at the Moneyfacts awards and their Complete Care, Standard Care and Standard Care Pre-Existing Conditions policies are rated 5 stars by Defaqto. Many Pets are one of only a few insurers that offer cover for pre-existing conditions, and they have flexible excess amount options. They also offer a 20% refund of your premiums if you don’t claim in a policy year, so they are an insurer to consider if you are looking for insurance with options.
At Number 5 according to our reviewers, is Vetsure. A whopping 88% of over 400 customers who left a review rated them as “excellent” with people appreciating how easy it is to use Vetsure’s site, make claims, and the quality of their customer service team. Their Customer care team won Claims Team of the Year at the British Claims Awards 2025. This followed their win at the British Insurance Awards in 2024, when they took the Customer Care Award. Customers also say they offer good value for money. Not a well-known insurer but one worth considering.
At number 6 is Tesco pet Insurance. Tesco offer special prices for Clubcard holders and pay 97% of claims within 4 days (data from Feb 2025 – Feb 2026). Customers value their customer service citing them as “kind, helpful and understanding”.
