Don’t expect a payout within two months

1

I moved my insurance policy to Admiral following a cold email advert. It all looked good: improved cover and 33% cheaper than my old company.
I made a claim two months after changing and received the shortest of replies, in quick-time. My claim had been rejected. They stated that my dog carried forward an existing condition over the transfer of policies (my vet had stated the nature of the prior and the latter conditions, and said that they were unrelated). I sent a separate mail from my vet repeating that the conditions were from totally different sources, albeit that the symptoms (sickness and diarrhoea) were similar . The process went on and on. Twice I was encouraged to open a complaint and promised a resolution “within three days” I never received any call but I did get a letter, about three WEEKS later. It told me nothing.
I have just spoken again with a representative, and well on the way to a three month wait, he was unable to “raise my expectations “ and forecast how much longer I should need to wait.
Think very carefully and don’t be tempted by the low rates; there’s a reason for them.
