Death by illness

1

Hi there, my pet was diagnosed with a tumour in her liver. she was my oldest at 10yrs old. I put the vet claim into Admiral to which, as usual, they come back with 'they need more information'. They had received all the information from the vets but I phoned Admiral and whilst on the phone I explained that the cancer was excessive and that my little dog was poorly. I had the top platinum policy. Then I was told because my dog was over the age of six all i could claim was £250. Unfortunately I had to get my dog put to sleep on new years eve. I contacted Admiral and I received £200 for her euthanasia. It cost £287. I've put complaints in because it states death by illness on her policy up to £3000 but because i didn't read the book which came with the documents I'm basically not entitled to anything by the looks of it, so basically your pet has to die before their sixth birthday and you must read the whole book that comes with your documents. Horrendous company i never had any issues with Tesco but Admiral have no sympathy, customer service skills, etc.
