I had 2 dogs insured with PetPlan. One has torn 2 cruciate ligaments in her time. PetPlan paid the vets and vet hospital direct each time, without us having to pay anything but the excess. They lay direct so you don't have to pay then claim it back. Their lite time cover is impeccable. Our other dog got run over and had to spend a week in hospital as it highlighted a problem which led to a cancer diagnosis. PetPlan paid out again. Minus the excess. Yes they are expensive but the peace of mind knowing the vets and they deal with it all behind the scenes and all you have to do is give your policy number and excess, is most helpful. The amount we have claimed for both dogs far exceeds what we have paid. I came here because I'm looking to insure a new dog and was looking at other options. The reviews of PetPlan made me feel compelled to leave a review of my positive experience! I'm wary of all other companies due to the fact they don't pay direct and you don't know if they increase premiums after claiming. PetPlan increased our premiums but one dog was never more than the other, despite any claims. They just increased due to the age of the dog and therefore the risk increasing.
