Always an excuse not to pay out

1

We first tried to claim back in 2020 when the vets discovered a lump on our labradors leg that after a biopsy, turned out to be a mass cell tumour. Animal friends refused to pay out on the basis that we queried the lump at the vet 6 months prior to this & argued that this was on our last years policy. We did query the lump with the vets around 6 months before they took action. At the time of our first query we were advised it was just a fatty lump - nothing to worry about.

About a year later the lump returned and it turned out to be another mass cell tumour. Again, we tried to make a claim and they refused because it was a 'recurrent illness' & she was no longer covered for masses, lumps or cancer. Bit rich of them considering they refused to pay out the first time round.

We have now just put a claim in as our labrador needs a wart removed. There is no confirmation that this is cancerous but it is irritating her and we would rather be safe than sorry. Again, they've refused to pay out.

I feel like Animal friends have a loop hole for everything. They can get out of paying pretty much anything we try and claim for. We'll be cancelling our policy and just going without from now on.

Happy to take our money month in, month out. Not so happy to pay out.
