My dog died after a short illness. I had already paid the vets bills before I made the claim I should have been paid over £450 but received £120. I was told by Sainsbury’s that as my one and only single claim ever spanned the renewal date so they took excess of £100 per year. My dog became unwell in September 2022 and died early March 2023 but as the renewal was in January this was considered as over a two year period. Not only did they refuse me money that I had already paid out, they also refused to contribute to the cremation as my dog was older than 9 years.
A shocking and disrespectful way to treat grieving pet owners. Even worse is the £000’s of pounds insurance that I have paid to Sainsbury’s for my pet and her only value to them is £120. I will NEVER use Sainsbury’s again.
