I was shocked to get a renewal for my 2 young toy poodles with an increase of around 40% in the summer, but I was too busy and stressed to shop around so I just renewed. For the first time ever (have had them insured for over 3 years and never needed any vet treatment) I put in a small claim of £300ish. Claims process is dreadful. Yes the customer service people are friendly and helpful but thats the only good bit. They ask for one piece of evidence, weeks later they come back with some other incidental query, on repeat. Now they are asking for 'a full clinical history' for a dog we got over 3 years ago as a healthy two year old from a responsible rehoming centre, already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked, just hasn't needed any veterinary treatment in the 3 years we have had her. While they haven't actually yet refused my claim, I am now almost 3 months waiting so I'd say beware of using bought by many for dogs you haven't had registered with a vet from 8 weeks old, and be prepared for some hastle at claim time.
