I took out pet insurance for my dog who, at the time was going through a phantom pregnancy. This led to a lump by one of her teats. The vet said it was probably to do with phantom pregnancy. It was only after I'd taken out the insurance and me paying out lots of money for tests, that I tried to claim for tests/operation that turned out to be a malignant lump. The company declined my claim stating it was a pre-existing condition. How could I know when taking out insurance that the lump was anything other than to do with phantom pregnancy. I disputed it with them, got vet to write another letter and still they rejected it. Don't take out insurance with this company they take your money every month, which isn't cheap, then reject your claims. Absolutely terrible service at a difficult time for me worrying about my dog.
