One claim resulted in unrelated illnesses being excluded!

We had the most awful experience with Animal Friends. They appeared really good...until you actually do need to claim.
Our dog had Maximum Benefit policy - £2000 per condition.
Our dog had Perianal Adenoma (basicaly a benign growth in the anal gland). She had some treatment for this.
After claiming we were told upon policy renewal that our cover "Excludes cover on all claims with respect to Growths and Tumours and Resulting Conditions."
After a painful attempt to get information from Animal Friends they clarified that no matter where the growth was and no matter what the underlying issue for that growth was then it won't be covered.
So basically, if our dog got cancer in the throat for example then this would not be covered....although totally unrelated to a benign growth in an anal gland!!?
Clearly there was no point renewing any kind of insurance with Animal Friends as they had now excluded any kind of illness that could potentially result in any kind of growth or tumour.

Beware of this. It's amazing how they try and get out of covering anything if they can.
