My dog was insured with Direct Line from when we got him as a puppy 11 years ago until we sadly lost him at the beginning of this year, and we only ever made a claim for his final short illness. I am pretty disgusted therefore to have just received a bill from Direct Line for another month's insurance after he died because the policy apparently runs on after his death until the next premium date instead of ceasing on his death. This was not made clear to us at renewal or any other time,and is, quite frankly, a callous and disgusting policy in the first place. Needless to say, Direct Line will not be getting any more of my money for pet, house, car or any other form of insurance in future.
