ridiculous exclusion, every "clever insurer"

My kitten was bought from a professional Ragdoll breeder, he had all of the vaccinations and had a health check just before i took him home. during the first few days, he had a bit stress reaction, and a bit sneezing. I took him to the vet to complete another health check, and asked the vet for medicine to treat his sneezing. Few days after, my kitten stopped sneezing, and became very healthy and energetic (actually he's always energetic even when he has sneezing). My vet confirmed that my kitten does not have any pre-existing illness, and gave me a 4 weeks free Petplan insurance. I was going to renew it to the a year Petplan lifetime insurance for my kitten until I consult their customer service. they asked me very specific heath history of my kitten, and I gave them the information of my kitten that he had sneezed for few days when firstly arrived my home, and he has been already fully treated and has been confirmed by the vet that he is healthy now.
BUT! after 35 minutes waiting on phone for their result. they told me they will not cover for any cat flu my kitten might get in the future. what a ridiculous insurer!! it's like saying having a flu will be a lifetime problem for the kitten. regardless the vet has confirmed he is healthy and with no pre-existing illness, they will just exclude as many as possible even a slight sneeze. To be honest, my kitten didn't necessarily need a treatment for the slight sneezing, but as a responsible pet owner, I still took him to the vet to make sure anything about him is absolutely fine. and I was of course being very honest about such a small previous flu sign, and let Petplan know. but what they did is just to exclude any flu my kitten might develop in the future.
Petplan REALLY SUCKS

I am considering Petplan for our cat as my husband saw a well known vet on an advert for them. But reading reviews I'm not sure now and wondered who everyone recommends many thanks.

True in every detail, same thing happened to me. My dog had a flea bite allergy which caused itchy skin this was sorted out with treatment from my vet.
Now they will not cover any type of skin allergy no matter what the cause is!! I have taken my case to the ombudsman along with a complaint regarding a massive increase in my policy because my dog has put on about 3 kg and now weighs over 20kg. I deeply regret ever using Petplan but I will see the case through to the bitter end and maybe they will alter the way they work.
