I followed all the vet recommendations and instructions regarding monitoring a small fatty lump in her groin. One day, a hernia appeared. I got her treated and animal friends refuse to pay out because it's been monitored.
They expect you to give your dog unnecessary surgery for anything that your vet tells you to monitor. Otherwise they'll exclude it and you won't find out until you claim.
They are a scam, disgusting, and nothing like a 'friend' to the animals they insure.

I have had just the same experience with Animal Friends gave may pre authorisation for treatment and then when claimed refused to pay
My VET says they are the very worst at paying claims
