The terms and conditions are loaded with ways to reduce payouts. Unfortunately we had a couple of claims recently and it was one thing after another. My boy has only ever been insured with the Kennel Club but if the treatment is either side of the policy renewal date then they charge the £95 excess twice.
Furthermore, the vets take administration fees for processing the claim forms but kennel club won't pay this fee. They also refuse to pay the referral fee which the vet charged me.
My boy had two claims and one involved a trip to the emergency out of hours vet which was 43 miles round trip, which is the closest one. The kennel club won't pay for the mileage with the reason being he wasn't referred. Ofcourse he wasn't referred to an emergency vet. It was this final point which was "the straw that broke the camels back".
