My dog is 8 years old and I'm already paying over £100 per month. She has had a couple of operations to remove early mast cell tumours - I pay the first £150 for any set of treatment. So imagine my annoyance when my dog needs to go for an operation that I have to find the £2,000 up front for the operation and then have to wait months to be reimbursed despite my vets filling out then comprehensive explanation of what treatment my dog had. And still I'm not fully reimbursed I have to pay another percentage for what reason it's beyond me. My advice is save up £10,000 and self insure.
