For the last 10 years I have paid this insurance on my dog and like most owners when the automatic renewal came in I did not read ALL THE SMALL PRINT, while I realised that the premium was increasing year on year it has gone from £25 . 00 in 2009 to just on £90.00 a month in 2019. what I did not realise was the increase in the excess (small print) it has gone from £25.00 for each claim to £125.00 so when my dog was poisoned while I was away mother-in-law took him to the vets and paid so on my return I tried to claim only to be told as the vets bill was under the excess I could not. Also the vets wanted £25. 00 to fill the form in and that is not recoverable from the insurance yet this insurance company insist that the vet fills in the form. If I had put £40.00 to £50.00 pounds a month I would now have close on £6,000.00 to pay for vets fees and the max they will pay is £7,500 for each claim
