Splits claim to maximise no. of excesses to be deducted

2

Fortunately we haven't had to use our pet insurance much over the years but a recent series of lumps brings home just how slippery Sainsburys pet insurance is.
Our Lab went in for examination of a couple of hard lumps that had recently appeared, one on her chest and one on her leg. The vet felt they could be linked so she underwent an op to remove the chest one and to sample the leg one as it could have potentially meant the loss of her leg.
The claim was submitted easily enough, on a single document, but 'dear old' Sainsburys decided to split the claim, i.e. deducted 2 lots of £99 + their 20% 'old pet surcharge'
And then, to add insult to injury, they deducted a dietary supplement which the vet prescribed to help our Lab overcome some post-operative difficulties with eating.
Can't do much now due to our Labs age but def. won't be going to Sainsburys for our next pet
