Ridiculous exclusions and inflexible cancellation policy

1

I took out insurance with PetPlan and answered the questions honestly. My dog had sprained a muscle in her shoulder a year ago from jumping off the sofa onto a slippery floor, for which she was given the equivalent of Ibuprofen for 2 days. There is nothing in her medical history to suggest that this has affected her since. She also ate chocolate as a puppy, three years ago, and because we were new dog owners we erred on the safe side and took her to the vet. As a result Petplan decided to exclude any issues with the shoulders, forearms rear legs, spine and urinary tract. Needless to say I cancelled the account but was 3 days late in doing so (14 cancellation policy) The agreed to refund £12 of the £28 I paid but would not entertain the idea of a full refund even though all that time was spent sending them medical histories to try and get them to reconsider the exclusions. I guess the additional £16 was more important to them than a good name. Don't spend it all at once PetPlan.
