My Bouvier has food allergies that required several tests and treatments. Plus she caught a tummy bug from drinking puddle water that meant she had to stay at the vet for 5 nights. Both times we had to make a claim. Claim process was easy although the deductible + 10% does make it a bit confusing for vet staff, meaning they often send us a confusing invoice in the post saying our claim has been settled, but still requiring the 10% payment. It would be a bit easier to just have a higher deductible than having the +10% thing, but from what I remember there wasn’t a choice regarding the deductible amount. This is expensive pet insurance, but it does provide good cover, particularly for ongoing conditions, which was what I wanted just in case. Bouviers are big dogs too so I guess that also makes it more expensive. At the moment it’s about £60 per month and I assume it will continue to go up each year like it has so far. I hope I can still afford it when she’s older!
