My dog received vet treatment for a *single condition* under the Lifetime cover policy however when I came to claim because the treatment started in one policy year (biopsy/x-ray) and finished (follow ups/anti inflammatories etc) during the next policy year I was told that though it was a single condition it was 2 policy years so the costs of follow up /ongoing checks in the new policy year were subject to the £95 excess again - even though I had already paid that to my vets. This left me out of pocket and I feel this is a classic case of loopholes apply - had this claim all happened in one policy year it would indeed have been a single condition and subject to the one excess charge. Unfortunate for me the new policy year cut right through the treatment period of her SINGLE CONDITION. Dont bother trying to complain they arent interested. Other Life Time cover insurance company I called said they would have treated it as a single condition and not applied a second excess in the new policy year for any treatment that bled over into renewal period.
