I have nothing but praise for Tesco Bank Pet Insurance. When my renewal premium was raised in April for my elderly cat, I decided to leave Tesco and look for a cheaper option, as my pet had no pre-existing conditions and I thought I could find cover cheaper elsewhere. Consequently, I cancelled my policy and took out a new one with another provider. Literally 2 days later, my cat stopped eating/drinking and only 4 days later, she was very poorly. I rang Tesco within a week of cancelling and had a brilliant operator who was extremely sympathetic. I was really worried that my cover would run out mid-treatment and incur huge bills but my operator could see that I had paid my premiums for 10 years without a claim so managed to renew my policy without a break so the cover was continuous. I was able to give my cat the very best chance of recovery with 5 days of hospital treatment and all the necessary tests. Unfortunately she did not recover but Tesco paid the full claim immediately, including the cost of having her put to sleep, minus the £50 excess. Their support and professionalism made a tricky time that bit easier to bear.
