I had my policy for many years with Sainsbury's. But when it comes to the time when you need straight forward claim paid, the answer is "it’s not covered under terms and conditions section 2". Which, as I’d just lost my pet, checking my policy wasn’t a high priority on my mind. It’s just a get out clause Your pets are not covered for this over 8 but that’s when you need the insurance the most!
