Take out policy 2 weeks before registering your pet with a vet

This policy is only worth you buying if you get a new pet and havent taken them to be registered to a vet. My advice buy the insurance now then in 2 weeks register your pet. That way you can be assured that the medical notes will state anything outside their 14 day cooling off.

I bought policy after my rescue cat was given a clean bill of health, they ask for if pet seen vet answered question to yes then yes for medical check. Make a claim 4 months later and they then state he has pre-existing medical conditions. They went by the general notes the vet makes on check up. They linked eye discharge to an eye ulcer yet the vet says no link. Claiming that its pre-existing so no cover. They apply exclusions after buying policy.

They had the opportunity to ask me for the vets notes at start of policy and chose not to. Currently fighting with them and sent to FOS to adjuicate their decision.
