Takes much longer to pay out then other providers

I switched to Tesco from Pet plan because they were cheaper but you get what you pay for. They claim on their website that 95% of claims are processed within 5 working days. What this actually means is that even if you scan and email over your claim, you will get an email 2 or 3 days later confirming they have received it. Then 5 days later it will be 'processed onto their system' this is working days so that is already almost 2 weeks into it. Then when you speak to them they will say it takes another 10 - 14 working days from being processed until they raise a cheque, then another 2-3 working days for that to be posted. This is all providing they dont have any queries. All in all you are looking at 5 - 6 weeks at the earliest. Not good service at all and certainly the worst pay out time I have seen in 15 years of having pet insurance

Totally agree. Took 10 days for form to arrive another 10 days form date sent by vet to get on system and just found out can take another 10-15 working days to process but thankfully they can now pay directly into bank account. Very rarely pay without disputing it but sadly this time claiming for end of life so hopefully will pay without a fuss.

I totally agree, they do take too long to send the claim. I have had claims since January 2015 for my dog. 3 times it was for over £1.000. They took 5 weeks to send the money, hence, having used my credit card, I needed that cheque in my account to be able to pay. This of course generated extra bank fees on my account. This happened 3 times, but every claim for this condition has taken this long to be sent to me. I have phoned Tesco every time to query when it was coming and was always told that the process always takes about 5 weeks. This is not good enough. You do get the money in the end, but be aware you will have to pay bank charges if their money isn't sent to you by the end of the month. Appalling customer service.

when you used your tesco claim ,did your tesco monthly payment went up or is it stays the same ?

because im suspecting if i do use my tesco pet insurance and they will put it up right away after i use my claim .
