Under no circumstances use this company They are also known as now. My dog has just had a small lump removed from the inside of her cheek and sent for biopsy which fortunately came back negative however the insurance company have refused to pay out apparently almost all of the head Including the tonsils are classed as dental and oral It's only covered for accidental cover so effectively nothing to do I dread to think what else they Ve got hidden away that isn't covered they don't tell you this even though before I took the insurance out I
I had a long conversation with them as to what would or wouldn't be covered I said and they showed me that the exclusion was oral and dental which any normal person takes to mean It's angums you certainly wouldn't class a little lump in the skin of cheek avoid avoid a void
Please pay more for a company that will support you rather than just going through anything ever written about your pet to see if they can find a reason not to pay you.
I appreciate that this might sound like a review from someone who is fed up because they haven’t received a payout that they were expecting. Yes, this is partly true but my experience goes way beyond a very large bill where they found a loophole and reason not to pay it. It is not just this incident. Every time I have needed them for anything I have been made to feel that they distrust me and are actively looking for reasons not to pay.
Their claims process isn’t fit for purpose either. There is a glitch on their online form, meaning you have to print it out and complete it longhand and then deliver it to your vets for them to countersign.
Completed forms then have to be photographed or scanned back to them along with an extensive history from the vet. Please be aware they will the go through this history with a fine tooth comb and then email (at a very leisurely pace) to ask for clarification on any point, or phrasing that could be a reason for them not to pay out. Expect to wait weeks and months for decisions (even those that actually go in your favour). Expect to resubmit information that you have already sent (& is still clearly visible as submitted within the email chain that they contact you on). Expect a company that do not pre-approve investigative procedures (as many companies will) to set your mind at rest. They will tell you that in theory it is covered by your policy but they will only be able to confirm if they will pay you, and how much, once you have paid and submitted your claim.
After bad experiences early on I insured my cat elsewhere and have had such positive experiences with this other company (who really seem to prioritise a caring concern for your pet) so I know that this company is very poor in comparison.
Sadly, now that my dog has an “existing condition” I will be stuck with Perfect pets until he is two years clear of requiring any input. I am currently looking into paying a higher premium elsewhere for a policy that will include his existing condition though. I’ve already put up with two years of poor service from Perfect Pet, so it will be worth paying more to be rid of them.
Please AVOID!!
