Refused to pay out for operation because of a note on file (no treatment)

More than refused to pay out for an operation to have skin tags removed, because of a note on the file stating that my dog had 3 skin tags before the policy started. One got large and infected during the policy cover, I was assured before going ahead it would be covered. Now I'm left with a £2145 bill. I'll never pay for insurance again what's the point?! They try and find anyway out of paying. You might as well put the money aside each month.

Policy clearly states pre-existing issues are not covered unless you opt to pay for that level of cover - this is the same as all insurers. Doesn’t matter if it’s had treatment before or not. Not really the insurers fault that the wrong cover level was selected, or that a claim was attempted for something pre-existing.
