I insured my cat with animal friends. The cat developed an ulcer on its foreleg and the treatment took about two months. I was shocked to be told that as the treatment had started towards the end of one insurance policy year and continued into the next policy that I would now have to pay the excess twice. I never dreamt that such an unfair clause could exist but it is tucked away in the terms and condition. Of my total vet bill of £295.58 they would only pay £84.56. Be warned they must catch thousands of people every year with this little dodge.
