satisfied with outcome but slow payment


My vet recommended that my dog be operated on for a retained testicle. I rang Tesco before deciding to go ahead with this type of operation which is purely preventative surgery for possible health problems in later life to check that he would be covered for this type of operation they confirmed that he would. They have indeed paid me in full for what turned out to be a very expensive operation over £900. It did however take 8 weeks and several phone calls to chase them up and find out what was happening. Their communication was not the best this would be my only criticism.

I see reading all the comments most complaints are about the hike in renewal prices. Having had a big claim recently settled I was expecting a big increase.Indeed there was but as my dog did not have an on going condition I went back to their website as a new customer half the price and £30 Tesco voucher. Worth a try for others maybe. Could not find a cheaper premium anywhere else.

I did exactly the same thing for my 2 cats insurance, much cheaper to take out a new policy, though you need to do this 14 days before the existing policy expires for continuous cover
