We are having trouble with our claim as our dog hasn't had a booster in a couple of years which for some reason has gone unnoticed by us , we used to get reminders but our vet claims they send them out but we cannot recall any being delivered , he has been to the vet on about three occasions in last couple of years and it hasn't been picked up on ? so now we have a problem with animal friends ins with this , now i have read a few reviews online about this company i don't think they are going to pay out . The claim is for £300 so its not a massive amount of money and his boosters are now up to date , has any one else had a similar problem ?

Why is that a problem?
Having the exact same problem with them, we are arguing the point that many veterinary bodies site annual vaccinations as being unnessasary and indeed you can over vaccine your pet. If you look on the Pfizer website and at the vanguard vaccines they actually state that they can last up to four years. I think that this argument will indeed fall on deaf ears as they do tend to try and get out of paying out on claims but if they don't my sister is a lawyer and she believes that I could have a case in the small claims court if indeed they refuse to pay.
I have just successfully had our claim (£760) paid out even though we had not had our dog vaccinated in 2012 & 2013 citing the fact of over vaccinating animals to be dangerous, I will put a rough copy of the letter I sent to them soon to help others who might be in a similar situation.
I have a claim in for over a thousand pounds and Animal Friends are trying to get out of paying. It is my first claim they are saying there are gaps in the history, this is because she has never been ill before, I missed a couple of boosters after being advised as you were about over vaccinating. I would really appreciate a copy of Phils letter if possible.
I can't afford to lose this money so any help would be appreciated.
Thanking you in anticipation.

My dogs are not vaccinatd ,AF told me they would still pay any claims as long as they were not preventable by vaccine....so parvo etc. Have made several claims in the last two years , never had a problem
All pet insurers will request your pets medical history when you submit a claim. Primarily this is to ensure that the condition you are claiming for is not pre-existing and that it meets the terms and conditions of the insurance policy. Just because your insurer seeks additional information it doesn't mean they are looking for a way not to pay your claim. Best advice from me, give them everything when submitting your claim.
