After several months of treatment with antibiotics for a bacterial infection our vet advised surgery to remedy the problem. After surgery our vet very kindly submitted our claim form for the full cost of treatment which was £446.48. I understood that my excess was £120 so when I received payment if just £206.48 I rang Tesco to enquire why. I was advised that as the claim ran into two separate policy years I had to pay the excess twice! I only ever submitted one claim and all the treatment was for that one claim. It seems that if your pet is ill you have to hope that it doesn’t happen towards the end of your policy. All Tesco are interested in is paying out as little as possible. I will never use their services again.
