I have been with Animal Friends for 10 years and was very pleased at the start but they have gone downhill. I have had need to contact them twice in the last 12 months and both times have been disappointing. My dog, who I have been paying them for 10 years needed some treatment but because of his age they only paid a percentage of the cost. My cat I had to take to an out of hours vet because she had severe diarrhoea and was floppy and was deteriorating. I believed it was life threatening or else I would have waited for my vet to open but they said it wasn't life threatening,. How can you know that before the vet has examined the animal and you have paid the money? So if it is not life threatening they won't pay out for out of hours vets. They paid me £70.95 when i had to pay the vet £316.42!!! Be aware, read ALL the small print and then go somewhere else.
