Coverage

Premier
Tesco Bank Pet Insurance – Premier cover offers long term peace of mind for your cat or dog. Each year Tesco Bank will reinstate your chosen vet fees limit of £2,000, £4,000, £7,500 or £10,000 providing cover is made available to you and you renew. This means that if your pet develops an ongoing illness or a reoccurring illness whilst insured with Tesco Bank Pet Insurance, they won’t put a time limit on how long treatment can last. This applies as long as your policy is renewed, there is no break in cover and your premiums are paid.

Extra
Tesco Bank Pet Insurance - Extra cover is for those who want a little more from their insurance, so you can rest assured they have the extra protection they deserve. Extra cover includes vet fees of up to £4,000 or £7,500 for each eligible illness or injury, until your vet fee limit is reached. This applies as long as your policy is renewed, there is no break in cover and your premiums are paid.

Standard
Tesco Bank Pet Insurance - Standard cover helps provide you with peace of mind should your cat or dog need veterinary treatment for accidents and illnesses. Standard cover provides up to £3,000 for vet fees for each eligible illness or accident for up to 12 months from the first date of treatment. This applies as long as your policy is renewed, there is no break in cover and your premiums are paid.

Accident and Injury

Tesco Bank Pet Insurance - Offers vet fee cover for accidents and injuries only, up to £3,000. Each injury is covered for 12 months from the first date of treatment or until the cover is used up, whichever happens first if your policy is renewed, premiums paid and there is no break in cover.

Lost pet cover is included with Tesco Bank Pet Insurance - Premier, Extra and Standard cover, where they will give you up to £1,000 to advertise for your pet (including up to £200 which can be used for a reward).

Tesco Bank Pet Insurance may choose not to renew a policy. If they do, they will let you know in advance of your renewal date.

Your renewal price increases each year and if a claim is paid, the price you will pay next year can double. There is no limit to how much your renewal price can increase.

Excess

Choose an excess of £60, £120 or £200. Excess levels can increase as your pet turns 8 years old.

For Standard and Extra cover, the excess for vet fee claims is payable only once per illness or injury. For Premier cover, the excess for vet fee claims is payable for each illness or accident each year.

For dog insurance third-party liability claims on property damage, £250 excess. If you choose a referral vet from outside the Tesco Bank Pet Insurance network, £200 of the referral vet bill will be paid in addition to the excess.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old when cover starts, any pre-existing injuries and illness are not covered. Changes in your pet’s health, or behaviour or any illness that develops from these changes within the first 14 days of your cover start date are not covered. Certain breeds of cat and dog are also not covered.

Waiting Period

Exclusion Period – 14 days (Standard, Extra and Premier cover).
